Violation:  416.2(b)(1), 416.2(b)(3)

Citation: At approximately 0830 while inspecting the outside premises during an SPS verification task,I noticed that a siding board approximately 4" X 12" in size, had come loose on one end creatinga hole in the outside wall of the plant. This hole is located on the offal storage room wall, to the right (west) of the overhead door, near the bottom. I explained this disrepair could lead to the entrance of vermin to and he agreed it was in need of repair. No product was affected/adulterated. US REJECTED tag #766785 was applied to the room's inside door near the Kill Floor, awaiting repair.


416.2(b)(1) Establishment buildings, including their structures, rooms, and compartments must be of sound construction, be kept in good repair, and be of sufficient size to allow for processing, handling, and storage of product in a manner that does not result in product adulteration or the creation of insanitary conditions.

416.2(b)(3) Walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and other outside openings must be constructed and maintained to prevent the entrance of vermin, such as flies, rats, and mice.
